A Warm Welcome to the SpacePort and Outer World Mining Super Camp!
Brickineers classes are motivating and engaging and have become the summer highlight of many youngsters!
THEME: SpacePort and Outer World Mining Roleplay
Five mornings of exciting Robotic builds with emphasis on programming and roleplaying- for children in Grade 1 to Grade 7.
This is a half day camp. If you wish a full day camp for your child, then please enrol in this and the afternoon class with coupon code “FULLDAY”.
A computer for each child, the latest bluetooth controllers, infrared controllers, hubs, the number of building beams and bricks and quality of the robotics kits make this a premium camp at bare-bone costs.
Put on your spacesuits for five mornings of excitement building and programming space oriented robots, city robots, excavators and mining equipment, a cargo and supply train and a SpacePort! A train to carry ore, supplies and space ships is now controlled by BLUETOOTH, so no more running around with Lego Infrared controllers. Everyone can now be part of the excitement and send their builds off to the launch pad! Spend a week learning about computer and electrical engineering with wired and wireless communication, software engineering with drop down programming, mechanical engineering with gears, motors, machines and robotic engineering in a Lego style modelled simulation of real life applications. Improve social skills through cooperative learning, critical thinking and problem solving skills in this mega-fun environment full of hands-on activities and challenges!
We will build robots and machines using Lego style bricks, technic pieces, gears, sensors and motors, and Bluetooth hubs We will remote control and/or program trains, robots and machines using MIT’s Scratch programming environment and/or the Lego BOOST app, to make them move and be useful. We will use robots to access and load supplies, mining equipment and then use a train or wheeled haulers to take ore, to and from space ship docks. A little bit of pre-camp homework on Scratch will be assigned prior to the camp – mainly tutorials that can be done at home which introduce your young learner to Scratch programming if they have not yet taken it in school.
This year’s camp amalgamates our previous Mining Camp with the SpacePort camp and will be more interesting than ever!
