A Warm Welcome to the Stop Motion Animation 1 Class: “The Mine”.
Brickineers classes are motivating and engaging and have become the summer highlight of many youngsters!
THEME: Animated Stories About Events, Fortunes and Misfortunes in a Mining Centre
Five afternoons of exciting Stop Motion Animation that Includes Robotic Action! – for Children in Grade 3 to Grade 7.
This is a half day camp. If you wish a full day camp for your child, then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss possibilities. We have a morning Mining Centre Camp before this one. Full day camp registration cost will have a $25 rebate.
Children can work alone or work in pairs, and each will have access to a computer – this is unlike any other camp!
Wow. Young animators will have access to a scale model mining camp with railroads, computer controlled machines and robotics. This is not your everyday small scene animation. Children will develop a storyboard and split the story into segments that each will learn how to animate. In the end we will edit all the videos together to make a full feature film! Is it a gold mine? Are there robbers? Is it a steel mine and is there a strike? Many stories can be thought of. We’ll brainstorm, make one up and animate away. Some programming will be required if robots and machines are to be included. However, it is not absolutely necessary to control the robots by computer as stop motion involves moving objects in small increments. It’s a wide open camp for curious minds that will provide solutions to problems we can’t even imagine right now.
Children will be advised to bring their own cell phones, or their parent’s, to take the pictures. We do have extra cell phones for those who cannot bring them, please advise ahead of time.
