Welcome to the newest Brickineers Engineering Camp for Students Grades 3-7!
Lego Target ShotBots and PuzzleBots
This winter we look at how to design and build an awesome target shooting tank, car and railroad. We will use remote controls and also learn to program. Targets will not be passive but will move and even control gates or other targets. Puzzle solving with robots? Find out what we have planned!
We will learn different techniques for launching items or shooting arrows to hit targets. We will talk about projectile paths and mix in some of Newton’s laws. Using drop down or script programming, we will learn how to control the robots using sensors and how they can locate and fire at targets.
There will be a great deal of planning and testing. Many ideas are open and sure to fail! But that’s the fun of tinkering that all makers learn. Epic failures are followed by Epic Victories! We will also build obstacles and try and outdo each other in making puzzles that robots can solve. Educational material in the camp will be adjusted for appropriate grade levels.
Children from grades 3 to 7 are welcome, learning tasks will be adjusted according to grade level. Children in Grade 2 that have completed a previous Brickineers camp are also welcome.
Brickineers classes and camps are based on the principles of experiential peer learning, and it is important that children have similar arithmetic knowledge and social skills, so that they can share and build from a common foundation at a pace that all can enjoy.
